I remember very well the moment when I saw my little Indiana for the first time. She was about 3.5 weeks old, very active and the only Groenendael bitch in the litter. An image is etched deeply in my memory - Jana is sitting on my left hand, supported by the right hand. I looked into her eyes and even then her strong will was evident. This will she always preserved.
Jana grew into a confident, strong character, resilient, very friendly dog that wasn’t always easy to lead, because of her self-confidence and her strong will. This strong bitch has shown me my limits and relentlessly made me search for solutions that made us a harmonious team.
For Jana, there was always the direct approach, always straight ahead, even if it meant an injury or a confrontation with me.
Jana died in my arms on the 31 March 2009. After the long and arduous winter, Jana’s hind legs did not obey anymore and I had to let her go.
Jana was a very special dog, she leaves a big gap.
